Joseph Bau

Rebecca Bau placed her husband's name on Schindler's list, and so saved him from Gross-Rosen, while she herself was sent to Auschwitz. The two were reunited after the war and emigrated to Israel, where they raised a family. Joseph Bau became an artist, an author and Israel's first animator. Exhibitions of his work have appeared in Israel, the United States and Canada. He was nominated for the prestigious Israel Prize in 1998.
